Saint Mary’s Medical Group and Prime Healthcare are on the leading edge of providing the highest standard in healthcare. SMMG sees the surplus of empty big-box and grocery stores as an opportunity to create clinics and urgent care centers within communities to improve access to medical services and increase the availability of these services. “This innovative strategy is just recently gaining traction in the healthcare industry and Saint Mary’s will be the first to implement it,” says Saint Mary’s Director of Facilities, Kent Choma, who visited Q&D last Thursday to celebrate and “ring the bell” to share the award with the Q&D family. “We will be converting an empty grocery store in Reno, NV on Robb Drive into an outpatient services clinic with imaging services.”
Q&D Construction will be the construction manager and contractor for the $5 to $6 million clinic, measuring approximately 40,000 sf. Q&D will work alongside SMRMC and their design team to provide cost data, value analysis, equipment and utility coordination, schedule management and other preconstruction services and then construct the project for the team. “We are so pleased to be selected for this opportunity to continue our excellent relationship with Saint Mary’s,” says Greg Gilmore, Sr. Manager for the Medical Department at Q&D. “Building healthcare facilities is demanding and requires a specific set of expertise. We are committed to putting that expertise to use in providing the best value for SMRMC.”
