Our Safety Mission
At Q&D we are steadfast in our commitment to fostering a culture that prioritizes safety. Through the implementation of comprehensive and proactive safety programs, we strive to ensure safety remains at the forefront of everything we do. Our dedication to these safety procedures is driven by our desire to safeguard everyone within the sphere of a project and deliver the best possible results.
Site and Client-Specific Safety
Q&D facilitates both initial and regular safety check-ins throughout the preconstruction and construction process. During preconstruction the project team will create an overall site-specific safety and logistics plan that encompasses areas such as safety communication protocols, creating clear perimeter barriers for pedestrians and vehicle traffic, large equipment special safety measures, noise control, and more. This site and client specific approach to creating a safety plan will inform Q&D to client priorities and programs so that everyone involved has a clear understanding of how Q&D’s culture of safety is being implemented on your project.
Safety Committee
The Q&D Safety Committee has been working to improve and support safety leaders and management for over 20 years by providing informed insight into various safety initiatives, incident investigations, and the integration of new laws and policies into our Health & Safety Program. The members of this committee are tasked with leading discussions about safety topics at company meetings, review site-specific safety concerns at a project level, discuss the detail of an incident, survey project sites, supply topics and agendas to sites to direct toolbox talks and daily safety meetings, and solicit input from all project personnel on potential safety improvements.
Virginia Street Bridge Replacement
With regard to Q&D, I truly believe that attitude is everything!! Even before the construction they were working on ways to lessen the impact on the community by shortening the schedule with the bridge launch strategy. They were very innovative, passionate and committed to meeting the schedules without compromising safety or the quality of the end product. I am very grateful to have been part of such a hard-working and dedicated team.
