The revitalized Bob McFadden Plaza is open in Carson City – the outdoor amenity is located on 3rd Street between Carson and Curry streets as part of the Carson City Streetscape project. The overall project includes updated utilities and expanded sidewalks designed by Lumos & Associates to activate the downtown area. The new plaza features a 36-foot permanent stage, a 12-foot water feature and a patio for nearby restaurants. New landscaping and outdoor seating change the street aesthetic to friendly and walkable; a place to meet friends for a meal, hear live music, visit the farmers market or walk to a nearby shop. It evokes a sense of welcoming and connection that will encourage people to stop and enjoy what Carson City has to offer.
At the grand opening. Q&D’s interns were on hand to help kids get up close to the construction equipment that’s been in action over the past weeks on the utilities and sidewalks near the Capitol Building.
