Veteran Project Director Brett Amesbury latest to join company’s ownership ranks
Q&D Construction is excited to announce that veteran employee Brett Amesbury is the newest member of the company’s ownership team. His addition became effective Jan. 1.
Amesbury grew up in Mt Shasta, CA before coming to the Truckee Meadows to attend the University of Nevada (2007-2011). He joined Q&D in 2014 as a Project Manager and has moved up the company’s professional ranks over the past decade to his current role as Project Director.
The 38-year-old said he’s always had a passion to build.
“Growing up, my favorite job was helping build custom homes,” Amesbury said. “When I went to college I chose Civil Engineering because it was the closest thing to construction, but I never wound up going into engineering and always stayed in the construction industry. I’m passionate about so many things in the industry. I enjoy everything from seeing a bridge being built to 30 miles of highway being paved on I-80 near Elko. It is all about being a part of Q&D team-building.”
That company approach is what Amesbury says makes Q&D a unique and special place to work.
“The people make this place great,” he said. “While moving up through the company, I have always used the knowledge I’ve learned from the long-time guys. I consider a lot of them mentors who have passed on to me the “Q&D Way.” I plan on continuing this trend and to continue the current ownership’s vision, while always looking for strategic opportunities where the company can grow and stay successful.”
