Q&D would like to congratulate Andy Breen on his promotion to IT Director. Andy will take charge this April of all of Q&D’s technology assets and will report to the chief financial officer. Over the past several years Q&D has focused on reinvestment, building up our technology infrastructure, modernizing our network, improving internal customer service, upgrading desktops, significantly increasing bandwidth and giving employees the tools and software they need to be increasingly productive in our industry. In his new role, Andy is tasked with keeping Q&D on the forefront of the technology needed to best serve our clients and design partners as well as maintenance and internal customer service for all technology issues.
Andy started his career serving our client, Scolari’s Food and Drug, as an IT manager. He transitioned to Q&D as a project administrator and later as a project manager, working more recently on the Reno-Tahoe International Airport Gateway expansion, security upgrade and baggage claim CMAR project and the new SCHEELS store in Rochester, Minnesota. His 13 years of experience as a field project team member will serve Q&D well.
Andy is looking forward to the new role as IT Director as it will offer him a chance to grow and learn in a different field while staying with the Q&D family. He likes the idea of a “regular” schedule in addition to meeting the challenges all technology professionals have – staying on top of the trends and keeping his company at the ready to integrate the latest tools into the workflow.
“At Q&D we are well-positioned for today and for the future of technology in construction,” says Lance Semenko, Chief Operating Officer of Q&D. “When new programs and tools are rolled out, we can start using them immediately. Our enterprise system is a critical part of our ability to smoothly and collaboratively manage projects and we are no longer limited by the capabilities of outside service providers or of our own equipment. It is leading to remarkable levels of innovation and initiative within our organization. I am pleased to have a professional like Andy on our team and that he could step in at this critical time to keep things moving forward for us.”
Andy resides in Palomino Valley, Nevada with his wife and three of his four sons. The family enjoys exploring the country, urban farming and working on home projects together.
