Q&D hosts second annual Safety Summit

Q&D Construction hosted its second annual Safety Summit on Monday, April 7, at Reno’s Peppermill Spa Resort. The event, which saw nearly 600 attendees, was a key highlight in the company’s year-round commitment to workplace safety and was mandatory for all Q&D employees.

The summit serves as Q&D’s flagship event to promote safety awareness and celebrate the company’s safety initiatives. Leadership took the opportunity to recognize improved safety statistics, praise the work of the Employee Involvement Committee, and highlight the success of its employee recognition program. Other safety measures were also discussed in detail, underlining the company’s dedication to continuous improvement.

Justin Ganschow, Business Development Manager for Caterpillar Safety Services, was a key speaker at the event. He emphasized the critical importance of prioritizing safety every day on the job, reinforcing the message that safety must remain a top focus for all employees.

To underscore the significance of the summit, Q&D called a safety stand-down for the day, halting work on all jobs to ensure full participation. One of the most valuable segments of the event involved small group discussions where employees brainstormed ways to enhance company safety and refine existing protocols.

The morning event also included breakfast for attendees, and as a token of appreciation, each participant received a new Q&D baseball cap. This summit not only reinforced the company’s commitment to safety but also fostered a collaborative environment where employees could contribute to ongoing improvements in workplace safety.
