Check out the latest from NDOT’s photo crew, a timelapse from a recent concrete pour of travel lanes on I-580, link below. The camera is located on the screed platform. Workers are placing the concrete from a belt truck into the formwork loaded with dowel baskets. They move the concrete into place using shovels to remove voids as the screed smooths and flattens the concrete behind them. The screed moves forward and back to further flatten and move the concrete. The team only places what they can finish in one shift, setting up protection and leaving the concrete to cure until it reaches full strength.
