The Regional Public Safety Training Complex is a model for collaboration with Q&D gaining consensus on a complex project among 30-plus team participants representing 3 police agencies, 4 fire agencies, 1 college and the Washoe County Public Works department.
The administration building is a two-story, 38,000 sf concrete block facility.
Unique among public works projects, Q&D orchestrated the design team, the development through a lease-purchase arrangement with Washoe County, and the construction.
“The project goals were realized and exceeded. I have been involved in public works projects for over 30 years. This is the first project that has come in slightly under budget and before the deadline. Q&D exceeded my expectations in making sure the users of the facility got what they expected and desired. Because of the ‘design-build’ process we were able to hire a quality team and get the most out of the allocated funding.”
