Our homeowner knew exactly how she wanted Villa Familia to function, especially how it would become a sanctuary for her large, extended family. But remodeling a traditional home into a large villa was more complicated than she imagined. She was grateful her dedicated team – KDesign LLC, Architect Joel Sherman and Q&D Construction – guided her through a journey of decisions that resulted in a home she absolutely loves.
Your project starts with an idea, ignites with the creative spark of your designers, and ends when you can put your feet up and relax in front of your new fireplace and just enjoy your new home. We want to get you there…Our Q&D homes team likes to say, “Building a home is a journey and a destination. Enjoy both.”
“It’s not the home I initially envisioned, which is good, because this home is so much more spectacular than I could have imagined.”
Q&D demolished the original 6,000 sf of existing home and rebuilt 9,382 sf of new home and 4,184 sf of storage, decking and patios in only 12 months. The wood framed structures feature a Vantage electric system, including lighting, audio, visual and telephones. The villa has five zones for heating, ventilating and air conditioning.
Villa Familia gracefully fuses Italian and modern design elements for a leisurely feel. The villa’s gathering areas open dramatically toward city views and a series of gardens, pools and seating areas. The home blends multiple colors of EIFS and wall textures. Finishes include red brick, Pella windows and doors, Spanish tile roofing, Italian stone pavers at entry and in patios, custom colored concrete and pavers in driveway. Interior finishes include hardwood floors, custom epoxy colored floors, counters of stainless, marble, granite and tile, custom casework, faux paint and custom drapery.
