Truckee Meadows Data Centers

Q&D Construction has played a key role in preparing a $3 billion, 224-megawatt data center development, spanning nearly 137 acres at the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center (TRIC) east of Reno, Nevada. Q&D has completed much of the grading and earthwork, installing underground utilities, building access roads, and performing concrete work for the campus. The project will deliver four multi-story data center buildings totaling approximately 1.1 million square feet, designed to support high-density AI workloads with advanced cooling systems and LEED-targeted, sustainable infrastructure. AS part of an impressive contracting team, Q&D is helping build the state-of-the-art facility that combines cutting-edge technology, resilient infrastructure, and energy-efficient design to meet the growing demand for mission-critical computing in northern Nevada.

Additionally, Q&D Construction played a critical role in developing a separate large-scale data center campus in northern Nevada, delivering the heavy/civil work that laid the foundation for the entire facility for a world-renowned tech company. The team completed extensive mass grading, moving more than one million cubic yards of earth, and installed the underground utilities — including sewer, water, storm drain, and fire water systems — that serve the campus. Q&D also built access roads, performed trenching for power, placed site concrete, and paved the campus to support construction and long-term operations. Additional work included specialized well-house infrastructure to supply and store water for the data center’s cooling systems, ensuring reliable, efficient performance for one of the world’s leading technology companies.

A third data center was among the first of its kind to make northern Nevada home. Constructed between 2017 and 2020, this venue was built on 1,210 acres in TRIC and is the second data center from its leading tech company to be built in the Silver State. Q&D oversaw much of the grading and infrastructure work on this early project as well.
