These new transmission facilities increase capacity and were constructed parallel existing in service facilities. Q&D was the contractor for two of the four segments. Segment 1 is located on the slopes of the Carson River Valley where Q&D crews installed just under a half mile of 12-inch diameter steel pipe on 30% slopes. Segment 4, just over four miles of take-up and new 20-inch diameter steel loop pipeline near Fernley, NV, crossed a combination of private and BLM land which required extensive coordination with federal officials and private land owners.
