When Q&D developed a recycling plant for concrete and asphalt, we invited Kimball Equipment to be on our design team and provide equipment. So when Kimball wanted to expand their business for crushing and screening equipment and products, they came to us asking for the same collaborative environment for exploring construction alternatives.
“Developing a light industrial facility is a rigorous process filled with ample opportunity and challenge. Because we had so many variables to juggle, I’m glad we chose a design-build delivery system where Q&D, Don Mackey Architect, Odyssey Engineering and Kimball all worked together from the initial project concept forward.”
– Greg Vroman, Kimball Equipment Representative
SYSTEM HIGHLIGHTS
Kimball’s pre-engineered metal building features a 4,007 square-foot office, an 8,096 square-foot shop and 1,028 square-foot in covered storage on a two-acre parcel Kimball Equipment recently purchased in Sparks. The new facility will feature a 20-ton bridge-crane to facilitate working on Kimball’s large equipment.
FINISH HIGHLIGHTS
The second-story mezzanine overlooking the office building’s entry features a railing made of handsome screening mesh normally used by Kimball in industrial screening applications.
