Nevada Gold Mines Process Facility Demolition

Q&D has been contracted to complete a number of demolition projects for Nevada Gold Mines (NGM).  

One of the more complex demolition projects was the Pinion Mill Processing Facility demolition at their Turquoise Ridge Complex.  This project comprised nine (9) large CIL tanks some as large as 38 ft in diameter, as well as expansion tanks, caustic tanks, anti-scalant tanks, HCL tanks, cyanide tank, lime silo and large concrete acid holding areas; most of these tanks required high-reach (over 50’), and precise demolition so as not to damage the building next to tanks – which was to remain in-tact.  One of the most complex elements of this project was removing a feed conveyor system which extended inside the building that was remaining in-tact – without damaging the building.
