Reno-Tahoe Airport Baggage Check-In
completed February 2010
Q&D is upgrading the airport while maintaining business as usual. The Airport Baggage Check-In (ABC) expansion involves estimating, planning and building large scopes of work under the strictest security. Using construction management at risk delivery, the team - Q&D, airport leaders, design consultants, and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) - developed a strategy that's staying on track for February 2010 completion.
Noting he’s been involved in many airport projects throughout the United States and abroad, working with numerous contractors, Roddy Boggus of Gresham Smith and Partners said, “I am happy to say that the work ethic, personal responsibility, and desire to provide the very best service to our mutual clients, raises Q&D far above my expectations.”
"The Q&D team has provided quality work product and met schedules established by the RTAA and TSA for review of construction documents, remained flexible with the changing environment, and worked tirelessly and seamlessly with the RTAA team," wrote Krys T. Bart, A.A. E., President/CEO of Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority. " In addition, they have worked cooperatively with the TSA with regard to new security directives and always act in the best interest of RTAA. In my opinion, under the careful direction of Q&D, this project continually exceeds our expectations." System HighlightsPhase One, delivering a sprung structure for temporary check-in, was delivered on schedule in July 2008. Phase Two of completing the automated baggage handling system with 6000 linear feet of conveyor belt is on track for fall 2009 completion. Finish HighlightsThe refurbished lobby and airline ticket offices are set for delivery before Christmas 2009, when travelers will be treated to stone and wood beams with a Tahoe flair. |
