July 4th A Success at Victorian Square
The Victorian Square Ph 2A Connector Road is getting close to its scheduled completion. Per the project specifications, Q&D crews were required to have Victorian re-opened for the 4th of July weekend. With the cooperation of the City of Sparks and the Nugget, Q&D Crews led by Aaron Bird and Scott Leone were able to do one better. They were able to open it a week early! According to Q&D President Norm Dianda, John Ascuaga is ecstatic about the work Q&D has completed so far. The rest of the project is scheduled to be finished by July 26th, just in time for Hot August Nights!

It’s a Busy Time for Concrete
Over the last 30 days, Q&D’s concrete crews have been very busy!
Reno-Tahoe International Airport: Crews poured an average of 130 truck loads of concrete on 4 nights for a total of over 5200 cubic yards.
Vista Blvd., Sparks NV: Crews placed 7500 feet of 10’ wide sidewalk in just 3 days!
Caltrans Donner Scale Project: Crews poured 1200 cubic yards in 2 nights of a 9 ½” base slab that was screeded by hand and
then topped with a 12 ½” paving slab also poured in 2 nights.
NDOT Pryamid Way, Sparks, NV: Crews poured and finished 3000 lineal feet of island curb on the NDOT’s Pyramid project. This also included all concrete paving between the curbs.

Assumption Church Breaks Ground
After two years of planning Q&D broke ground on the Assumption Church Project on June 14th in Truckee, CA. The project will include sitework and a new Church/Parish Center. This space will be exclusively used as the Parish Center once the new church is built at a later date. The worship space will include three large timber trussess and exposed beams. Project is scheduled for an Easter 2011 Grand Opening!
